Douglas Board

Douglas Board (@BoardWryter) is the UK-based author of the satire MBA which asks why so much of the world is managed by arseholes. Booklist Online called it a 'hilarious fiction debut Ö [which] might result in laying most MBA programs to fallow' (full review here). Time of Lies, a political satire to be published in Britain in June 2017, is described by the Guardian as in 'the vanguard of Brexit fiction'. Board has also written two applied research books on leadership and published articles in the London Financial Times and Times Higher Education.

Fascism, whatever

with thanks to Boyzone

No matter what they tell us
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach us
What we believe is true

No matter what they call us
However they attack
Whatever facts they show us
We'll throw their fakes right back

I can't deny what I believe
I can't be what I'm not
I know I'll live forever
I know no matter what

If only fears were greater
If only blacks were white
If only walls were higher
And gays were out of sight

No matter what they tell you
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach you
What you believe is true

And you will keep us safe and strong
Our shelter from the storm
Down here amid the carnage
A dream is being born

No matter whom you insult
No matter what you tweet
No matter how you screw us
You'll keep our taxes sweet
No matter that 'neath spangled stars
Our blood runs in the street
No matter what the end is
I like fascism neat

I can't deny what I believe
I can't be what I'm not
I know, I know
Iíll love myself forever
That's all that matters now
No matter what!
